These 3-3/8" Wasa cuticle scissors have thin curved blades and are nickel-plated. They have a closed shank, which is the length of the handles between the joint and the rings. This is an indicator of a higher quality scissor, because it takes precision and detailed handwork to make the shank fit smoothly together.
The cuticle scissor measures 3-3/8" in total length, (or, to be more precise, 3-7/16.) The blades measure 3/4" from the screw to the tip of the blades, and the cutting edge (where the blades get more narrow) measures 1/2".
Compared to a nail scissors, these cuticle scissors are smaller and more delicate, with a tiny screw that may loosen and even break if the scissors are used to cut fingernails. Nail scissors are sturdy, with a larger, stronger screw and shank.
These cuticle scissors are forged by Wasa in Solingen, Germany. Forging makes the metal harder so the scissors stay sharp longer.(Inexpensive cuticle scissors are made from soft metal that will not hold an edge.)
These quality cuticle scissors have a screw and are adjustable, and can be fine-tuned when that becomes necessary. (Inexpensive scissors are often riveted, and cannot be adjusted.)
These cuticle scissors are imported directly from Solingen, Germany.
