Norton Three Stone Multi-Sharpener is a complete sharpening system for all applications. Three 11" stones mounted in steel frame in oil-filled reservoir base. Walk into any established commercial kitchen, and you will find one of these!  Longer stones yield more effective sharpening per stroke, saving time.

Three stones are mounted in a steel frame, inside a reservoir type base.  When one stone is being used, the other two are immersed in oil, making them ready for use at the twist of a wrist. Being oil filled makes them more resistant to particle buildup.  One pint of oil is included with the unit.  One stone is coarse Crystolon and one is medium Crystolon, a silicon carbide abrasive for fast cutting and edge shaping.   The third stone is India aluminum oxide abrasive, which gives a finer finish.

Norton India (Aluminum Oxide) Combination Bench Stones feature aluminum oxide abrasive, coarse on one side, fine on the other. Norton Honing Oil is a specially formulated, highly refined white mineral oil, which makes it safe to use for sharpening knives in the kitchen around foods, as well as for the fisherman or hunter.  It contains no animal or fish oil.

Oil acts as an effective lubricant during sharpening to float away metal and abrasive dust that would other wise clog up the stone and ultimately render it useless.  Excellent for lubricating hinged or moving parts of hand tools, locks, casters, power tools, mechanical and electrical appliances, sewing machines, sports gear, and hundreds of other applications.  (Norton Honing Oil was originally known as "bear oil" to go with the Norton bear trademark, but it contains no animal oil.)
