Shun Classic Knives

Shun Classic stainless steel kitchen knives are a stunningly beautiful line of cutlery. They feature the look and benefits of Damascus steel, yet without its rusting problems. The Damascus-looking blade profile reduces the food's ability to stick to the blade.  It also results in less damage to the food being cut, as well as faster food preparation times.

The VG-10 stainless steel is clad with 16 layers of SUS410 high-carbon stainless steel on each side, producing a rust-free Damascus look. VG-10 "super steel" is composed of Carbon, Chromium, Cobalt, Manganese, Molydenum, Silicon and Vanadium. VG-10 is the ultimate edge, holding an incredibly sharp edge longer for easier edge maintenance.

The ebony-blade PakkaWood handles are specifically designed for premium applications. They have a "D" shape to offer maximum comfort and control.  PakkaWood provides strength, stability, and moisture resistance.  It is manufactured by impregnating hardwood veneers with phenolic, thermosetting resins and fusing them into a solid, wood-grained structure.

SHUN Classic knives have SUS 416 stainless steel bolsters and end caps. The bolster's unique, offset design enhances the ergonomic quality for the highest level of safety and control.  The stainless steel end cap adds beauty and durability.

Shun Classic Knives each come in a gift box.

SHUN Classic kitchen knives are made by the KAI Corporation in Seki City, Japan.  KAI has been Japan's premier blade producer for more than 90 years, and the blade smiths of Seki City have been making some of the world's finest cutlery for more than 700 years.  Working with today's technology, many of the descendants of those blade smiths continue the tradition of excellence today at KAI. The Shun Knives are imported into the United States by Kershaw.
