Patch cutter knife blade, stainless steel, 2-3/4" cutting edge, 6" overall length. This is a Norwegian blade that was designed for edge holding quality. The faint etching on the blade shows a stylized deer and the manufacturer's name "Brusletto." Patch cutter blades were traditionally used to trim patches in black powder rifles. This is also a nice small hunting knife blade or game knife blade.

The Norge by Brusletto in Nowway is their only carbon laminated steel blade. It is 8-3/4" overall length, blade length 3-3/4" and .114" thick. The blade is available in high satin finish. Norweigian laminated blades are composed of 3 laminations of steel. The center is extremely hard and the outer two laminations are softer and protective of the edge bearing center. This is an ingenious design that works to give the blade a lasting edge and increased flexibility. The center lamination registers 59 on the Rockwell "C" scale, which means staying sharp for a long time. Since it extends through the whole blade, the edge won't wear off with repeated sharpening. These blades have a correctly curved section for skinning and a straight section for slicing
