These double-chrome plated Gingher 8" dressmaker's shears are "true" left-hand scissors with blades that are completely re-oriented for the lefty, as opposed to only contouring the handles for the left hand. These shears have knife-edge blades, which means the lower blade has been ground to a 40-45 degree bevel for a greatly enhanced cutting sharpness. They measure 8" in overall length. They come with a molded nylon sheath to protect the sharp blades, and are gift-boxed.
These are bent (offset) shears, which are designed for cutting on a flat surface such as a table. They are appropriate for general dressmaking for all weight fabrics of natural and synthetic fibers. Gingher scissors are forged, which makes the metal harder so the scissor stays sharp longer. They are assembled and finished in the United States.
