1. Quality nail scissors forged by Dovo in Solingen, Germany. 3-1/2" total length; curved blades cut 7/8". The heavy screw will not break while cutting heavier nails, as compared to the tiny screw in more delicate cuticle scissors. We recommend, however, that even with a sturdy nail scissors, it is easier on both the scissors and the nail if very thick nails are trimmed a tiny slice at a time. These nail scissors are forged, which makes the metal harder so the scissors stay sharp longer. (Inexpensive nail scissors are made from soft metal that will not hold an edge.) These quality nail scissors have a screw and are adjustable, and can be fine-tuned when that becomes necessary. (Inexpensive scissors are often riveted, and cannot be adjusted.)

2. Quality cuticle scissors forged by Dovo in Solingen, Germany. 3-1/2" total length, blades cut 3/4". Flat pattern, large finger rings, nickel-plated, thin curved blades. This cuticle scissor is often included in Dovo manicure sets. The closed shank (the length of the handles between the joint and the rings) is an indicator of a higher quality scissor. It takes precision and detailed handwork to make the shank fit smoothly together. These cuticle scissors are forged, which makes the metal harder so the scissors stay sharp longer.

3. Quality nail nipper forged by Dovo in Solingen, Germany. Curved cutting edges, lap joint, wire spring, nickel-plated with patterned finish on the handles. Total length: 4-3/4". As in all quality nippers, the cutting edges of this nipper first meet at the very tip, leaving a wedge-like gap between the edges. When stronger pressure is applied, the edges close and cut in a rocking fashion like a knife on a cutting board. This nail nipper has a lap joint, in which one blade is laid on top of the other blade, similar to scissors. These nippers are forged, which makes the metal harder so the nippers will stay sharp longer. Cutting a small piece of nail at a time with the points of the nail nipper is easier on the nipper and the nail.

4. The tweezers measure 3" long, and have wide slanted tips.

5. The sapphire-dust nail file measures 6" long in total length, and has an amber-colored plastic handle.
