These satin-finish, stainless steel Dovo SensoCut hair shears have knife-edge, hollow ground blades, and measure 5-1/2" in total length plus a 1/2" gold-plated detachable finger rest. The gold-plated Micro-Motion adjustable screw allows for correct cutting tension by operator. There is a rubber silencer between the finger rings. This hair shear comes in a black gift box lined with blue felt-like material, and includes 4 ml of oil and a plastic finger ring insert.

The knife edge (sometimes called razor-edge) blades are honed and polished to a very thin, very sharp edge. They cut more easily and stay sharp longer. However, because the edges are razor thin, they are fragile and must be treated with great care. Even laying the shears down with the blades open can damage the thin edges. The blades are also hollow ground, with extra concave grinding added to the blades to give a more precise, sharper cutting edge. The combination of hollow ground on the inside of the blades and knife edge on the outside results in extremely thin blades which cut the hair more crisply. Dovo's MicroMotion adjustable screw technology insures comfort and performance. The Teflon pressure plate is spring-loaded in a rubber micro ring, and the calibrated metal fitting allows for precise adjustment.

This hair scissor is forged by Dovo in Solingen, Germany. Forging makes the metal stronger so the hair shears are strong but not bulky, and they will stay sharp longer. These hair shears are stainless steel with a satin finish. They will not rust in moist conditions and can be sterilized. Autoclave sterilizer may be used. However, they might be more properly termed "stain resistant," since they could possibly stain under greatly adverse conditions. The stains are not rust, and will not affect their quality performance.

These Dovo hair scissors measure 5-1/2" plus the 1/2" length of the detachable finger rest. Dovo calls this a 5-1/2" hair shear. Dovo defines the length of a hair shear depending on whether or not the finger rest is attached. If the finger rest is detachable, the length of the hair shear that is written on the blade does NOT include the length of the finger rest. If the finger rest is attached as part of the hair shear, the length that is written on the blade will include the length of the finger rest as part of the total length of the hair shear.
